Description	:	CARSTENSEN, Lena Dorathea Lena Dorathea Carstensen was born April 21, 1908, the daughter of Jens and Margaretha Petersen Carstensen. She died at ther home near Ida Grove, Iowa on Friday, September 10, 1993 at the age of eighty-five years. Lena was born in Ostbordelum, Germany and received her education there before coming to the America in 1930. She settled in Crawford County and was employed by the Raymond Connors family for two years before joining her brothers. Read More	CARSTENSEN, Lena Dorathea Lena Dorathea Carstensen was born April 21, 1908, the daughter of Jens and Margaretha Petersen Carstensen. She died at ther home near Ida Grove, Iowa on Friday, September 10, 1993 at the age of eighty-five years. Lena was born in Ostbordelum, Germany and received her education there before coming to the America in 1930. She settled in Crawford County and was employed by the Raymond Connors family for two years before joining her brothers. In 1947, they bought a farm eight miles north east of Schleswig where she settled and farmed with her brothers. She was a considerate, loving and generous person always willing to give of herself. Her kindness and devotion are evidenced by her sharing and participation as a member of the United Church of Christ, the Dorcas Society and Ladies Aid of the Church. She was preceeded in death by her parents and one brother, Johann on June 14, 1993. Survivors include three brothers, Hans, Carsten and Fredrich and his wife, Elsie all of Ida Grove; and two sisters, Inge of Ida Grove and Anna Harder of Schleswig-Holstein, Germany.
