Read More	SCHLESWIG, Iowa -- Inge Carstensen, 97, of Schleswig died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2009, at the Good Samaritan Society in Holstein, Iowa. Ingeburg Catharina Carstensen was born February 29, 1912, the daughter of Jens and Margaretha Petersen Carstensen. She died Tuesday, September 8, 2009, at the Good Samaritan Society in Holstein, Iowa, at the age of ninety-seven. Inge was born in Ost Bordelum, Germany, and received her education in Germany. In 1930, she moved to America with her family. Inge worked at home until 1949 when she went to work in Denison and Sioux City, Iowa, and California, where she worked in an office. In 1979, Inge began working for Dr. C.H. Richmond and remained with him until 1992. In August of 1992, she returned home to help care for her family. She was a loving woman who cared for her family with devotion. She was a dedicated Christian who was grateful to the Lord for the opportunity to fulfill her wishes. She was a member of the United Church of Christ in Schleswig, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, John, Hans, Friedrich and Carsten; and two sisters, Lena and Anna. Survivors include nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 11, 2009, at the United Church of Christ in Schleswig, Iowa. Rev. Chris Burtnett officiated the service with graveside rites at Morgan Cemetery in Schleswig. Organist Wendy Bumann provided accompaniment for congregational hymn, "He Leadeth Me" and for "Take Thou My Hand and Lead Me" and "How Great Thou Art" by soloist Nancy Krueger. Serving as pallbearers were Caleb Schroeder, Malachi Schroeder, James Redenius, Jayson Lansink, Robert Krueger and Dan Schroeder. The family invited everyone in attendance to join them in fellowship and lunch at Cheetas Restaurant. The Huebner Funeral Home in Schleswig was in charge of arrangements.
