Petersen, the daughter of Samuel and Katherine Fredrich Dutler, was born October 27, 1900 west of Guthrie Center and died September q5, 1990 at the Friendship Home in Audubon at the age of 89 years. She was baptized and confirmed at Bowman Chapel Church in Guthrie County. She attended rural sxhoolin Audubon County and then worked as a housekeeper for several families. Petersen, the daughter of Samuel and Katherine Fredrich Dutler, was born October 27, 1900 west of Guthrie Center and died September q5, 1990 at the Friendship Home in Audubon at the age of 89 years. She was baptized and confirmed at Bowman Chapel Church in Guthrie County. She attended rural sxhoolin Audubon County and then worked as a housekeeper for several families. On February 28,, 1923 she was united in marriage to Chris J. Petersen at the Lutheran Parsonage in Audubon. She owned and operated the White Kitchen Cafe, the Victory Cafe and several other eating establishments in Audubon until the late 1960's. During the summers she worked as the camp supervisor at Springbrook State Park in Guthrie County. For 30 years they operated a food concession at the Audubon County Fair and served meals at many farm sales in the community. She also cooked at the bowling alley until she retired in the early 1970's. Chris J. died May 21, 1984. She maintained their home for a short time, then moved to the Friendship Village and became a resident of the Friendship Home in April of 1988. Lena was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church and the Alpha Circle in Audubon; the Rebekah Lodge No. 459, the Degree of Honor Lodge, and did quilting at the Good Neighbor Center, and was a member of many neighborhood clubs. Preceding her in death in addition to her husband were her parents, her brothers and sisters: Samuel, August, George and William Dutler; Mary Bailey, Rose Benton, Katherine Ditto, and Fred Fett. Survivors incude her sons and their wives: Dale E. and Phyllis Petersen of Carroll; Duane R. and Fumiko Petersen; Jerry L. and Linda Petersen, all of Audubon; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; her sister Helen May of Audubon; her sister-in-law, Helen Petersen of Elk Horn; her brothers-in-law: Fred Fett of Adair, and Leonard Duling of Audubon; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted by Pastor Mary Hansen on September q9, 1990 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Audubon. Interment was in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Audubon. The casket bearers were Russell Bamsey, Dr. H.T. Barnes, Richard Evans, Allan Jacobsen, Fred Nissen, John Robert's, and Perry Roberts.--from the Audubon News Advocate. September 21, 1990
