The former Lena Waller was born born Dec. 10, 1926, in St. Paul, Minn., to Raymond and Martha Owings Waller. She grew up in Wapello County and graduated from the Ottumwa Beauty Academy in 1944. She moved to Oskaloosa and worked for several beauty shops in Oskaloosa. On Sept. 17, 1950, she married Lester Shaw at The Little Brown Church in Nashua. She worked as a clerk at the old Graham's Department Store, and later at the old Alsop's Department Store. She was a member of the Ottumwa Church of the Brethren, and a current member of First Christian Church in Oskaloosa. She is survived by her husband, Lester of Oskaloosa; four children and spouses; six grandchildren; two sisters and a brother-in-law; a stepsister; two stepbrothers; and a brother and sister-in-law. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter , Marsha Marie Shaw; a sister, Dora Rhoda; a brother, Raymond Waller; and two half-brothers: Sonny and Carl Waller.
