Description	:	Lester Shaw Lester Lyle Shaw, 76, of Oskaloosa, died Friday, February 28, 2003, at the Mahaska Hospital in Oskaloosa. He was born January 26, 1927, at Lacey, Iowa, the son of Emery E. and Marie Gunsaulis Shaw. He graduated from the Eddyville High school with the class of 1945. Following high school he enlisted in the United States Navy during World War II, and was medically discharged early. Following his service in the Navy, he returned to Oskaloosa. Read More	Lester Shaw Lester Lyle Shaw, 76, of Oskaloosa, died Friday, February 28, 2003, at the Mahaska Hospital in Oskaloosa. He was born January 26, 1927, at Lacey, Iowa, the son of Emery E. and Marie Gunsaulis Shaw. He graduated from the Eddyville High school with the class of 1945. Following high school he enlisted in the United States Navy during World War II, and was medically discharged early. Following his service in the Navy, he returned to Oskaloosa. On September 17, 1950, Lester was united in marriage to Lena E. Waller in the Little Brown Church at Nashua, and she died September 12, 2000. He farmed in Mahaska County, and also had various other jobs, including employment at the old Hackert Locker, Oskaloosa Produce, the City of Oskaloosa waste water plant, and 15 years with Rolscreen Company of Pella. He was a member of the Farm Bureau. He is survived by 4 sons and their wives: 6 grandchildren: a great granddaughter; and a very close friend. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter: Marsha Marie Shaw; and a brother (Emery) Keith Shaw. Funeral services for Lester Shaw will be held Tuesday, March 4, 2003, at 10:30 a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa, with the Reverend Michael Crouch officiating. Burial will be in the Union Mills Cemetery near New Sharon, with graveside military rites given by members of the Oskaloosa American Legion and V.F.W. Visitation with the family will be Monday 6:30 ? 8 p.m. to greet friends and relatives. Memorials may be made to Mahaska Hospice. (Contributed by CVL as found at the Bates Funeral Chapel)
