Description	:	Was born Lena Meyer near St Donatus, Iowa to Henry W. Meyer and mother Sophie. Her parents immigrated from Germany in 1856/57 with 2 other children (Caroline Sophia Meyer, and William Henry Meyer). Her mother Sophie died in 1858 9grave unknown). Henry remarried to Mary Guenther in 1859 and they had 11 more children! Lena married Frederick Hoffman of Jefferson City, Missouri in 1878. Had 2 children William in 1879 and Anna in 1881. We don't know what happened to Frederick Hoffman, presume he died about 1885 (grave unknown). She married Eustee Eggers 25 February 1886... We don't know what happened to Frederick Hoffman, presume he died about 1885 (grave unknown). She married Eustee Eggers 25 February 1886 in Bellevue, Iowa. Eustee died in 1906. She lived in Preston from 1906-1916. She then moved to Maquoketa until her death in 1938. The obituary says she suffered a broken hip on May 6th, 1938 and was ill from that until her death at the Maquoketa City Hospital. She was very poor and had a rather difficult life. Her Mother died when she was about 1 year old in 1858. 1st husband presumably died, both children died young in 1901 and 1912, and 2nd husband died in 1906. She was very poor. Her daughter Anna married Charles Hansen of Preston, Iowa. Her son William, married Louisa Hageman of Spragueville, Iowa.
