Read More	Lena Swieter, born 1868, died 1934, mother. born March 28, 1868; died April 17, 1934 1st husband Warner Swieter #80810906 married in 1886 2nd husband George Swieter #55212276 married in 1898 ----- LAST RITES HELD FOR RESPECTED MOTHER Mrs. Lena Swieter was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Schulte, and was born March 28, 1868, in Ostfriesland, Germany. When eight years of age she came to the United States with her parents, locating in Grundy county, and later moving to a farm northwest of Wall Lake. In 1886, she was married to Warner Swieter at Carroll, Iowa. Six children came to their home, three passing away in infancy. Mr. Swieter died in 1898 in California, where the family had gone on account of his health. Mrs. Swieter married a second time, her husband being George Swieter. Three children were born to this union. Her earthly life came to an end at 5:10 o'clock Tuesday morning, April 17, 1934, after a four weeks' illness. She was 66 years and 19 days of age. Those who remain to mourn her passing are her six chilren, namely, Rudolph Swieter, Hannah, wife of Carl Jacobsen, Adolph Swieter and William Swieter, all of Lake View, and Augusta, wife of Raymond Webster of Carroll, and Mrs. Agnes Wolcott of Carroll. Also two sisters, Mrs. Gottlieb Wiese, of Lake view, and Mrs. Chris Herrig of Parker, S.D., and ten grandchildren. Mrs. Swieter had been as esteemed resident of the Lake View community for 35 years. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock from the home, and at 2 o'clock from the Methodist church. The Rev. W.N. Baker officiated. The beautiful and consoling hymns, "Rock of Ages", "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "God Will Take Care of You" were sung by a quartette comprising Mrs. W.E. Deur, Mrs. A.J. Hazelhoff, W.F. Brower and A.B. Canady. Mrs. Marie Marsh was the pianist. The pallbearers were John Weitzel of Odebolt, John Wiese and Albert Nuetzman of Wall Lake, Adolph Lange of Lake View, Hans Jacobsen of Sac City and John Knecht, of Early. Burial was in the Wall Lake cemetery. Relatives here from a distance were the daughters from Carroll, and Mr. and Mrs. Chris Herrig of Parker, S.D.
