Description	:	BARNEY, LENA—Lena Troyer, daughter of Joseph Troyer and Anna Schweitzer Troyer, was born at Milford, November 2, 1892. She passed away at Geneva on November 18, 1984, at the age of 92 years and 16 days. On March 24, 1921, she was married to Harold Barney. To this union two children were born, Donald and Faye. She was a proud 50-year member of the Shickley United Methodist Church, a faithful and willing worker in the church and a past-president of the Women’s Church Society. Read More	BARNEY, LENA—Lena Troyer, daughter of Joseph Troyer and Anna Schweitzer Troyer, was born at Milford, November 2, 1892. She passed away at Geneva on November 18, 1984, at the age of 92 years and 16 days. On March 24, 1921, she was married to Harold Barney. To this union two children were born, Donald and Faye. She was a proud 50-year member of the Shickley United Methodist Church, a faithful and willing worker in the church and a past-president of the Women’s Church Society. She was a faithful wife and a kind and loving mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother. She truly enjoyed her life on the farm. Her beautiful flowers and yard were a great pleasure to her. She moved to Shickley after the death of her husband and received much joy from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Fay and husband, Don Schilmiller; her daughter-in-law, Iola Barney; grandchildren, Don Schilmiller, Robert Schilmiller and wife Lenore, David Barney, Donna Roesner and husband Tom, Rodney Barney and wife Rene, Steve Barney and wife Cindy, and Melody Spurling and husband, Jamie, 11 great-grandchildren, sisters, Fann Stutzman, Mary Pieper and Ruth Click and a brother, Joe Troyer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, son Don; sisters, Carrie Snodgrass, Bertha Van Waning, Eva Troyer, and Gertrude Troyer and Pearle Troyer. Funeral services were held at the Shickley United Methodist church on Tuesday, November 20, with the Rev. Bill Ritter officiating. Organist was Mrs. Verlie Zetterman. Vocalist Kelly Eich sang “How Great Thou Art” and “Beyond the Sunset.” Pallbearers were Steve and Rodney Barney; Donald and Robert Schilmiller, James Spurling and William Litzinger.
