Lenna Alice Davis Lenna Alice Titus, daughter of Samuel and Ellen Titus was born November 22, 1874 in Carroll county and died May 10, 1951 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Arch Textor, where she spent the closing days of her life. Her age was 76, years, 5 months, 18 days. She was united in marriage to John Davis, August 30, 1893. They began their married life together on a farm three miles northwest of Coon Rapids, which was their home until 1934, when they moved to Coon Rapids. The last three years of their life together they lived in a small house near the Textor home. These were very happy years. In 1943, they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Last December 20, Mrs. Davis fell and broke her hip and had been in failing health since that time. She had been in the hospital most of the time since December. Mrs. Davis was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Rural Industrial Club. She was a kind and loving wife and mother. Her interests were about her home and loved ones to whom she gave herself in loving service. She suffered much pain through her sickness but was always patient and uncomplaining. Left to mourn her death are her husband and three children; Fred C. Davis of Carroll, Mrs. Celia M. Textor and J. Boyd Davis of Coon Rapids, also a brother, Clarence Titus of Oakes, North Dakota, and a sister, Mabel, Mrs. Fred King of Central City, Iowa. Five grandchildren, Sgt. Wilson Davis, Washington, D. C., Clayton Davis, Coon Rapids, Mrs. Marjorie Sigler, Sheldon, Marrianne Davis, Carroll, and Mrs. Donna May Lund, Chicago, Illinois. Two great grandchildren; Kenneth Sigler and Kathleen Davis. Many other relatives, friends and neighbors were made sad by her death. Those from out of town who attended the funeral were Fred Davis and family of Carroll, Sgt. and Mrs. Wilson Davis, Washington, D. C., Clarence Titus, Oakes, North Dakota, Sgt. and Mrs. Myron L. Lund, Chicago, Illinois, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Killian, Alliance, Nebraska; Miss Ellen Thornburgh, Perry, and Mr. and Mrs. Elwin Sigler and family of Sheldon.
