She moved with her family to Custer, MT at a young age where she attended schools and graduated in 1924. She attended Billings Polytechnic and Dillon Normal School. She taught "one room schools" north of Waco and in Big Horn County, MT. She married Richard "Dick" Stork Dec. 20, 1925, in Billings, MT. They lived in Custer but moved throughout Montana and Wyoming. She cooked for her husbands work crews and church camps while raising her family. In 1940, she purchased the Custer Café. She and her husband later purchased the Custer Hotel in 1945. He died in 1959. She continued to operate the hotel until her retirement in 1970. She was active in the Congregational Church, Sunday School and Ladies Aid Society. She was a leader in 4-H and Home Demonstration Clubs. She organized the Custer Cemetery Association. She served several terms on the school board. She enjoyed Rebecca Lodge RSVP gardening and traveling, Until her death, she was the oldest alumnus of Custer High School. Survivors include two daughters, Alice Lorentz of Great Falls, MT., and Marjean Cole of Rawlins, WY.; a son, Richard Stork of Chula Vista, CA.; 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
