In 1955, Lenora and Donald moved to Des Moines. Lenora retired from Prairie Meadows. Throughout her life, Lenora enjoyed cooking, reading, playing board games and card games (especially UNO) and spending time with her family. In 1955, Lenora and Donald moved to Des Moines. Lenora retired from Prairie Meadows. Throughout her life, Lenora enjoyed cooking, reading, playing board games and card games (especially UNO) and spending time with her family. Lenora was preceded in death by her parents Harry and Maggie Sparks; her husband of 69 years Donald; her infant daughter Cynthia; her son Randy; 1 brother (Harry); and her infant grandson Travis Whitacre. Lenora is survived by her son Donald (Connie) Whitacre; daughter Deborah Whitacre; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a host of other family and beloved friends. A private family Celebration of their Life will be held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Cincinnati. Memorials may be left for the family, in care of Bruce or Connie Whitacre, to be determined at a later date, and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, C/O Whitacre family, 1900 South 18th Street, Centerville, Iowa 52544.
