Lenore was born November 19, 1921 in Kenesaw, Nebraska to Albert and Cecelia (Aufdenkamp) Steiner. Lenore attended school at District 38 in Adams County, Nebraska until the 8th grade. Lenore was born November 19, 1921 in Kenesaw, Nebraska to Albert and Cecelia (Aufdenkamp) Steiner. Lenore attended school at District 38 in Adams County, Nebraska until the 8th grade. She graduated from Kenesaw (NE.) High School in 1939. After high school, Lenore taught rural school near Doniphan, Nebraska. During this time, she met Rudolph Wilson "Rudy" Faber when her uncle Godfrey and Rudy's sister Golda got married. He was the best man, and she was the maid of honor. Rudy and Lenore were married on June 7, 1942, in Syracuse New York. They lived together in Syracuse and Hempstead, New York until October of 1942, when Lenore returned to Hastings, Nebraska while Rudy served in the military. She worked in the laundry at the Naval Munitions Plant, Hastings,Nebraska and then later taught school in rural Kearney County, Nebraska. When Rudy came home in 1945, she joined him in Nashville, Tennessee, until he was discharged from the military. From 1945 to 1947, they lived in Kenesaw, Nebraska. In 1947, Lenore and Rudy purchased a farm 2 miles east of Heartwell, Nebraska and lived there many years. During this time, Lenore helped with the farm operations, always having a hot meal on the table and helping to move equipment to various fields. She took pride in having an immaculate house and yard. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother that always had time for her family. In 2006, she and Rudy moved from the farm to Minden, Nebraska. Lenore was a life-long member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Holstein, Nebraska. Lenore was preceded in death by: parents; husband, Rudolph Wilson "Rudy" Faber; step-mother, Esther Kreutzer-Steiner; brother, Mervin Steiner; sister, Ruth Mack; step-brother, Harold Kreutzer; son, Allen Faber and infant grandson. Funeral services were on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Holstein, Nebraska with Rev. Harold King as officiator. Burial was in the Minden Cemetery, Minden, Nebraska.
