Description	:	Leo D. Teply was born to Louis and Rosie (Pavlis) Teply on September 4, 1924 in Geddes, S.D. Leo died Tuesday, October 30, 2012, at the Golden Living Center in O'Neill, NE. Leo grew up southwest of Geddes, S.D. on the family farm, and attended Geddes (S.D.) public schools. After graduation in 1942, Leo remained on the family farm until he retired. Throughout Leo's life, he enjoyed old time polka music. He played with the Rada Accordion Orchestra until starting his own band in 1955, The Leo Teply Orchestra. Leo died Tuesday, October 30, 2012, at the Golden Living Center in O'Neill, NE. Leo grew up southwest of Geddes, S.D. on the family farm, and attended Geddes (S.D.) public schools. After graduation in 1942, Leo remained on the family farm until he retired. Throughout Leo's life, he enjoyed old time polka music. He played with the Rada Accordion Orchestra until starting his own band in 1955, The Leo Teply Orchestra. He enjoyed playing accordion, concertina, saxophone, and piano. Over the next 30 years, the band played for area wedding dances and local events, as well as Tabor Czech Days, celebrations in Sheridan, Wyoming, and broadcasted live on WJAG radio station from the Riverside Ballroom in Norfolk, NE., on Sundays in the mid 1960's. Leo enjoyed his hobbies, which included stamp and coin collecting, antique cars, and antique radios. He also enjoyed traveling to polka festivals, Mexico, and Arizona. Grateful for having shared Leo's life and love of music are special friend of many years, Delores Clocker of Spencer, NE.; brother, Roy (Marilyn) Teply of Mesa, Arizona; sister, Ruby (Chuck) Henderson of Littleton, Colorado.; brother-in-law, Charles Slaba of Geddes, S.D.; nephews, Danny (Lori) Slaba, and Mark (Cindy) Bowen; nieces, Pam Patton, Linda Howard, Debra (Jerry) Gran, and Janice (Chat) Wright; as well as great and great-great nieces and nephews. He will be missed by many relatives and friends. Leo was proceeded in death by: parents, Louis and Rosie Teply; brother, Arthur Teply and sister, Wilma Slaba. Graveside services were at the Pleasant Lawn Cemetery, Geddes, South Dakota.
