Wilma was born March 1, 1933 in Geddes, SD. She attended Geddes Public School for Grade and High School. After graduating High School Wilma attended Nettleton Business College for 1 year. She married Charles Slaba December 27, 1952. They began farming near Geddes, SD and had 2 children, Danny and wife Lori of Renner, SD and Debra Gran and husband Jerry of LeMars, IA. She worked at Wagner State Bank, Lake Andes State Bank, Geddes State Bank, and 20 years for the Geddes Public School system. Wilma enjoyed crocheting, crafts, dancing, and visiting with her many friends and relatives. She especially enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of the United Methodist church, American Legion Auxiliary, and Red Hatters. She will be missed by all. She died at Lake Andes Health Care Center in Lake Andes, SD on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at the age of 79. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Rosie Teply of Geddes, SD, brother, Arthur Teply (infancy) of Geddes, SD, two sisters, Virginia and Mildred and grandson, Jason Slaba of Sioux Falls, SD, and her in-laws, Charles and Rose (Tucek) Slaba.
