Description	:	Leo H. Helling, 80, of Fort Madison died Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at his home. Born Jan. 2, 1932, in Fort Madison, he was the son of Lawrence and Angeline Rickleman Helling. On May 30, 1959, he married Sandra Joy Werner in Fort Madison. She died Oct. 11, 2008. Mr. Helling delivered milk with his brother, Albert, for Tri-State Dairy. Helling, 80, of Fort Madison died Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at his home. Born Jan. 2, 1932, in Fort Madison, he was the son of Lawrence and Angeline Rickleman Helling. On May 30, 1959, he married Sandra Joy Werner in Fort Madison. She died Oct. 11, 2008. Mr. Helling delivered milk with his brother, Albert, for Tri-State Dairy. For the past 30 years, he was a custodian for the Fort Madison School District. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He was a member of SS. Mary & Joseph Church. He always was a family man, never complained, and even in tough times, he always had a smile. Survivors include one son, Randy Helling of Rochester, Minn.; one grandson; one brother, Albert Helling; and two sisters, Mary Menke and Dorothy Holtkamp. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one grandson. Per his wishes, cremation has been accorded. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:15 a.m. Wednesday at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory in Fort Madison, where family will receive friends. The funeral mass for Mr. Helling will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at SS. Mary & Joseph Church, with the Rev. Mark Spring officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Oakland Cemetery.
