Leo James Imberi was born on July 16, 1940 to Isador and Magdalena (Hopfinger) Imberi on the family farm near Hillsview, SD. He grew up on the family farm and attended Hillsview Country School near Hosmer, SD. Leo moved to Grand Island, NE where he built mobile homes. He then moved to Escalon, CA and was employed on a dairy farm. Leo returned to the family farm and worked with his dad for several years. In 1968, Leo moved to Aberdeen and worked at Craven Welding. Leo married Margie Hardy on September 14, 1968 at Hosmer. In 1972 he started work at Hub City, Inc. He stayed there for nearly 35 years, until his cancer kept him from working in April of 2006. Leo was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Aberdeen. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially going fishing. Leo also liked to do carpentry work. Recently, Leo began to enjoy long walks. He loved his family and his cat, Princess. Leo had a big heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Grateful for having shared Leo's life are his wife, Margie of Aberdeen, son, Troy (Vickie Arneson) Imberi and granddaughter, Emily Arneson, his mother, Magdalena of Eureka, SD, four brothers, Andy Imberi of Merced, CA, Burt Imberi, Jerry Imberi and Jerome (Colleen) Imberi, all of Eureka, and two sisters, Mary (Jack) Klessens of Escalon, CA and Anna (Charles) Harty of Aberdeen. Leo was preceded in death by his father, Isador and an infant sister.
