Read More	Leo Klosner, 19, Struck by Tree Limb and Killed Dies of Crushed Skull Three Hours After Accident Occurs; Cutting Winter's Fuel Supply Leo Klosner, 19 years old twin son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Klosner Jr., living four miles southwest of Creighton, met accidental death Monday, while helping his father and two other brothers cut the family's winter fuel supply. They were working in the Lundberg grove, a half mile north of their place and had just finished cutting one of the largest cottonwood trees there, when the tragic mishap occurred. The tree did not fall when cut, a branch catching in a nearby tree and holding it. The elder Mr. Klosner suggested they leave it till after dinner. It was about 11:30 then, Leo, however, said he wanted to see it go down and struck it several times with an axe. He succeeded in dislodging it and as it started to fall, he, his twin brother, Leonard, his other brother, Herbert, and his father ran back to get out of the way. The limb which had prevented the tree from falling in the first place, a branch probably 25 feet long, broke loose, however, and catapulted in the opposite direction of the falling tree trunk, Leo was unable to to get out of its way and it struck him on the head. Unconscious, he was rushed to his home and a physician summoned. He died about three hours later, never regaining consciousness. His skull had been crushed. Leo John Klosner was born May 24, 1917 on the place where the family now resides and lived his all-too-brief span of life there. He and his twin brother were members of the 1936 graduating class of St. Ludger Academy. He was active in both school and church circles and only Friday evening served as announcer at the program given at the Municipal Hall by St. Ludger Academy pupils. He was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith. A bright and cheerful young man, ever ready with a smile and a willing hand when a task needed doing, his untimely passing leaves not only his family grief stricken, but also saddens the many who knew him and cherished his friendship. Surviving relatives include the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Klosner, three sisters, Margaret, Myrtle and Dorothy, the twin brother, Leonard, an older brother, Herbert, all at home and the boy's grandfather, Henry Klosner Sr. of this city and grandmother, Mrs. Tracy Stormberg of Sidney, Nebr. Funeral services were held at the St. Ludger Catholic church at 9 o'clock Wednesday morning with the church pastor, the Rev. W. Windolph, officiating. The many attending and the beautiful flowers at the bier, provided a fitting final tribute.
