He later retired from the state of Kansas in 1980. He was born April 16, 1918, to Michael and Sarah Lacy O'Connor. He moved to Topeka in 1940. Other survivors include three daughters, Pat Wilcox, Diane Eakes and Mary Worthington, all of Topeka; four sons, Jerry O'Connor, Tim O'Connor, Don O'Connor and Mike O'Connor, all of Topeka; four sisters, Catherine Jacobson, Rossville, and Josephine Welchhans, Evelyn Hutton and Dorothy Heere, all of Topeka; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Christ the King Catholic Church. Burial will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet at noon Monday for a lunch at the church. Mr. O'Connor will lie in state at the Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home after 3 p.m. Sunday, where a parish rosary recited at 5 p.m. will be followed by visitation until 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association Topeka Chapter, P.O.
