(Bykirk) Ryan. Leo died Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at Rose Lane Home in Loup City. Leo grew up and attended school in Greeley. After graduating from Greeley High School he taught in the Greeley school system for one year and then enlisted with the United States Navy and was discharged from the military services in March 1957. On April 25, 1959 Leo married Carmen C. Sedden. Of this union were four children: Kent S., Denise M., Mark L. and Charles P. With the skills that Leo learned in the Navy, he continued to serve his country with 30+ years of service working for the Federal Aviation Administration. During his federal employment, the Ryan family lived in Lincoln, NE; North Platte, NE; Olathe, KS; Garden City, KS; Washington, IL and Loup City, NE. On May 3, 1997 Leo was joined in marriage to Ila Katonek in Grand Island, NE. Of this union, Leo's family grew with two step-daughters; Angela Ives and Beth Finngogason. Leo is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Kent S. Ryan of Milford, NE and Mark L. and Becky Ryan of Loup City, NE; daughter and son-in-law, Denise M. and Robert Clothier of Washington, IL; step daughters, Angela Ives and Beth Finngogason of Canada; seven grandchildren; three step-grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wives, Carmen and Ila; son, Charles and parents, William and Julia.
