Pallbearers were Leo Parizek, Royal Mason, Lloyd Chalupsky, Ronald Kaloupek, Otto Ulch, and Charles Upah. Interment was in National Cemetery, Vining, Iowa. Leola Marie Cherveny, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Casey, was born on July 24, 1915, on a farm south of Chelsea. She passed away on January 28, 1966 at her home near Clutier following a lingering illness. She spent her childhood years near Chelsea, attending rural schools through eighth grade, graduating from Tama high school in 1932. Following her graduation, she taught rural school in Howard Township. On December 23, 1935, at Clinton, Iowa, she was united in marriage to Laurence Cherveny, Clutier. Following their marriage, they moved to their present home four miles southeast of Clutier. To this union three children were born. She attended and supported the Elberon Methodist church, enjoyed membership in the Morn Star Rebekah Lodge, the Women's Society of Christian Service, and the Elberon and Clutier Homemakers Clubs. She is survived by her husband Laurence; one son, Allen Eugene, presently employed by the Iowa Employment Security Commission in Marshalltown; two daughters, Judith Ann, a fifth grade teacher in the College Community school system, near Cedar Rapids, and Beth Ilene, an eighth grade student in the North Tama Community Schools. Other survivors include her mother, Mrs. Leo Casey, Toledo; one sister, Mrs. Lloyd McBride, Victor; one brother, Lyle Casey, Toledo; several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Leo Casey, in 1960, and a sister in infancy. Contributor: George (48419540)
