He was born November 30, 1946, the son of Orian Dorse and Gertrude Mae (Voss) Galemore. He attended schools in Humboldt and Yates Center, Kansas, graduating with his GED before entering the Army. Read More	*********************************** Published Dec. 28, 2011 - Chanute, KS Leon Orian Galemore, age 65, of Chanute, Kansas, passed away December 25, 2011 in Chanute, Kansas. He was born November 30, 1946, the son of Orian Dorse and Gertrude Mae (Voss) Galemore. He attended schools in Humboldt and Yates Center, Kansas, graduating with his GED before entering the Army. He served his country in the Army from 1964 – 1967. He was united in marriage on November 14, 1970 to Peggy Ann (Freeman) Galemore in Yates Center, Kansas. He was an Electrician in both Kansas City and Chanute areas for 25 years before retiring. Leon served in the Coffey County Sheriff Reserve in the 1970's. He used his many talents to design and construct a home from the ground up. Leon loved the outdoors and the time spent there with his children and grandchildren are treasured memories. Leon donated hours of his time and talents to manage the Galemore Cemetery. Leon is survived by his wife, Peggy, and his four children, Shawn Lee Galemore of the home, Noel Ann Clayton and husband Chris Clayton of Harrisonville, MO, Oryan Lee Galemore and wife Milyn of Beaufort, SC, and Nicholas Lee Galemore of Berlin, Germany; his brothers, John Galemore of Chanute, KS and Dale Galemore of Olathe, KS; his sisters, Barbara Enright of Yates Center, KS and Donna Kay Zablotny of Justin, TX; his grandchildren Lathan, Hunter, Hannah, and Abigale Clayton, and Jordan and Joshua Rollon. He is preceded in death by his father Orian; mother Gertrude (May Darling); brothers Harold and Donald Galemore; and sister Betty Wrestler. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 31, 2011 at the United Brethren In Christ Church. Burial will follow in the Galemore Cemetery, rural Humboldt. The family suggests any donations be made to the Galemore Family Cemetery Fund to construct a gazebo in his honor or the donation of plants and flowers to be planted there. Donations can be made to Galemore Cemetery Fund, Emprise Bank, 17 S. Lincoln, Chanute, Kansas and may be left with the funeral home. Penwell-Gabel Gibson Chapel is in charge of arrangements. ********************************
