Description	:	Leona Elizabeth Conrad, 91, of Sigourney, died Sat., July 22 at the Sigourney Care Center. She was born May 25, 1898, south of Keota, to Nicholas Kiefer and Annie Barbara Horras. She attended Ottumwa Heights Academy. She married Liborius A. Conrad on December 26, 1917 at St. Mary's in Sigourney. They farmed near Keota for three years and then moved and farmed near Lancaster until moving to Sigourney in 1957. She is survived by four daughters, Frances Greenley of Sigourney, Helen Gann of Roeklin, Calif., Isabelle Flander of Keota and Bibiana Chadwick of Cedar Rapids; 20 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; twin sister, Veronica "Frona" Sheetz of Sigourney. She was preceded in death by her husband on June 20, 1968; an infant son; a brother, Horace Kiefer and two grandchildren. Funeral Services were held on Mon., July 24 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sigourney with Fr. Ernest Braida officiating. Pallbearers were Bill Greenley, Murray Flander, Hal Gann, Terry Greenley, Tim Chadwick and Randy Flander. Burial was in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Sigourney. A memorial fund has been established to the Sigourney Care Center. Holm Funeral Home of Sigourney was in charge of the arrangements. Sigourney News Review - July 26, 1989
