Description	:	Leona G. Fraseur, 90, of Tipton, passed away peacefully Monday, March 19, 2018, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, surrounded by her family. Visitation will be 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Friday, March 30, at Fry Funeral Home in Tipton. Memorials may be made to the Tipton Senior Dining Center in her memory. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 31, at Fry Funeral Home in Tipton. Burial will be in the Tipton Masonic Cemetery, Tipton, Iowa. Leona Grace Geerdes was born October 7, 1927, in Grundy County, the daughter of George and Trientje "Trena" (Riekena) Geerdes. She graduated from Wellsburg High School in 1946. She attended the University of Iowa, and graduated from Iowa State Teachers College. She married John Lee Fraseur on June 15, 1950, in Wellsburg, Iowa. Together, they believed that living in a small Iowa farming community provided families with a supportive network of people who take care of each other through good times and bad. She was proud to serve her community and was actively involved in Tipton life. She was a member of the Tipton United Methodist Church, the Athenaeum, Nineteenth Century Club, and the United Methodist Women. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt. She is survived by one son, David (Alicia) Fraseur of West Lafayette, IN; one daughter, Amy Fraseur of Hopkins, MN; eight grandchildren, Julia, Joseph, Brandon and Vanessa Fraseur, Grace Nelsen, Christine Boeve, Andrea Summers and J. R. Skola; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons, Randy and Brent Fraseur and one brother, Harold Geerdes. Fry Funeral Home
