Description	:	Leona Silva Strasser, 102, was born March 16, 1914, in Lebam, Wash. After living in Lewis County her entire life, she went home to be with the Lord May 4, 2016, after a brief stay at the Delaware Plaza in Longview, Wash. Silva was always taking care of someone. After living in Lewis County her entire life, she went home to be with the Lord May 4, 2016, after a brief stay at the Delaware Plaza in Longview, Wash. Silva was always taking care of someone. She loved children and they loved her. She always had room in her heart for more children. Silva found joy in having company, playing a game of cards, picking berries and reading the Bible. She not only read the Bible, she lived her life to please the Lord. Silva raised her younger brothers after her mother died. She loved her nieces and nephews, teaching them Bible verses and the value of attending church. Silva married Richard Strasser May 2, 1930. Together, they had two daughters, Sherry DeVore (Mark) and Terri Jorstad (Larry). She loved to celebrate birthdays. In 1969, she was determined to finish high school and earned her diploma. Silva rode the bus with other students to Onalaska High School, took the needed classes and graduated. She loved to learn, she was always playing word games, cards, crosswords and scrabble. She always had fun and let the kids win. Silva loved to embroider pillowcases, crochet doilies, make quilts and take walks. She was a huge Mariner's fan. She loved to watch the games and attended several. Silva was a 4-H leader, Sunday School teacher, worked at Mode-O-Day, volunteered at Voter Precincts and worked in adult care. Silva was preceded in death by her parents, Mahalia and Sam Harris; sister, Goldie Music; seven brothers, Jess, Frank, George, Ivan, Orville, John and Roy. She is survived by her two daughters and their husbands; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; numerous nieces and nephews; and those who lovingly claimed to be her nieces and nephews. A celebration of life potluck will be held at Shoestring Valley Community Church, 104 Frase Rd., Onalaska, WA 98570, on Saturday, June 11, 2016, at 1:00 p.m.
