Description	:	Leonard Calvin "Andy" Andersen, the son of Christopher and Sena Andersen, was born Sept. 30, 1915, on a farm near Corley. He died at Clarkson hospital in Omaha on June 25, 1986, at age 70 years, 8 months and 26 days. He attended school at Corley and Kirkman and grew to adulthood on his parents' farm. After school he worked for area farmers and in the 1930's, he worked under the CCC program. On Nov. 2, 1938, he married Martha June French at her parents' home west of Irwin. Two children were born to this union. ... Read More	Leonard Calvin "Andy" Andersen, the son of Christopher and Sena Andersen, was born Sept. 30, 1915, on a farm near Corley. He died at Clarkson hospital in Omaha on June 25, 1986, at age 70 years, 8 months and 26 days. He attended school at Corley and Kirkman and grew to adulthood on his parents' farm. After school he worked for area farmers and in the 1930's, he worked under the CCC program. On Nov. 2, 1938, he married Martha June French at her parents' home west of Irwin. Two children were born to this union. He was inducted into the U.S. Army on Dec. 14, 1943, serving his country during WWII. After his honorable discharge from the Army on Jan. 14, 1945, he returned to the Harlan area [where] he was employed by Squealer Feed in Corley and Elk Horn for a short time, and for many years in Harlan. After the death of his wife on Jan. 1, 1980, he continued to make his home in Harlan. On Oct. 25, 1980, he married Ada Kelley in Harlan. They have made their home in Harlan since that time. He was a member of Helmer Reyelt Post No. 150 of the American Legion, Parian Masonic Lodge No. 321, A.F. & A.M., and was also an honorary member of the Harlan Volunteer fire department. In addition to his parents and wife, June, he was preceded in death by six brothers, Harry, Fred, Carl, James, Clarence and Walter and three infant brothers. He is survived by his wife, Ada of Harlan; two daughters, Barbara (Mrs. Melvin) Morgan of Beatrice, NE; Brenda (Mrs. Lyle) Fiscus of Irwin; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; three step-children; and 1 step great-granddaughter and one sister, Clara (Mrs. Eddie) Hochstetler of Salem, OR; many nieces and nephews and other relatives. Funeral services were held Saturday, June 28, 1986, at Pauley Funeral Home in Harlan with Pastor George Gibson officiating. Burial was in the Harlan cemetery with Paul Stephany, Jerald Wigness, Lee Sunderland, Elliott Svendsen, Gerald Summers and Emory L. Hansen serving as casket bearers. Pauley Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
