Description	:	Martha June Andersen, daughter of Peter J. and Noreen [Norine E.] Symons French, was born on a farm in Shelby county near Irwin, June 14, 1917. She attended school in Irwin except for her last two years of high school which were completed in Harlan. She grew to adulthood on her parents' farm. Read More	Martha June Andersen, daughter of Peter J. and Noreen [Norine E.] Symons French, was born on a farm in Shelby county near Irwin, June 14, 1917. She attended school in Irwin except for her last two years of high school which were completed in Harlan. She grew to adulthood on her parents' farm. After graduating from the Harlan high school with the class of 1935, she worked in Harlan for several years. On Nov. 2, 1938, she married Leonard Andersen at her parents' farm west of Irwin. Two daughters were born to this union. They made their home in Harlan until 1942 when they spent a short time in Corley and Elk Horn. They then returned to Harlan and this has been their home since that time. Mrs. Andersen died at Myrtue Memorial hospital in Harlan on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 1980, at age 62 years, four months and 17 days. June had been a long time member of the First United Methodist Church in Harlan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Vern French. Survivors include her husband, Leonard Andersen, of Harlan; two daughters, Barbara (Mrs. Melvin Morgan) of Beatrice, Nebr., and Brenda Andersen of Harlan; three grandchildren - Sherry, Ned, and Rodney Morgan; nieces and nephews and other relatives. Funeral services were held at Pauley Funeral Home in Harlan on Thursday, Jan. 3, 1980, with Dr. Larry LaVelle, pastor of the First United Methodist Church in Harlan, officiating. Burial was in the Harlan cemetery with Ancel Crouch, Louis Jensen, Harold Crouch, Howard French, Robert Bertsch and Leonard Dinesen serving as casket bearers.
