Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, November 28th at the Pleasant View Bible Church in Aurora. Rev. Rick Prettyman and Rev. Paul Nauman will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 P.M. Monday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary. OBITUARY: LEONARD TUCKER Leonard Elvin Tucker, the son of Fredrick Elvin and Mabel Pearl (Bayne) Tucker, was born near Stockham, Nebraska on August 26, 1913 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on November 25, 2006, at the age of 93. Leonard moved with his parents to Loup City in 1916. In 1919 they moved to a farm northeast of Giltner. In 1923 they moved northwest of Giltner and in 1926 they moved back three miles west of Stockham. Leonard attended school in Hamilton County. Leonard was united in marriage to Ruth Mabel Eckerson on December 29, 1939 at York. They lived on a farm south of Aurora until 1964, when they moved to an acreage on the south edge of Aurora. Leonard farmed all his life. In later years he worked at the Cornhusker Ammunition Depot in Grand Island and for the School District 4-R in several capacities for about 30 years. He and his wife Ruth did volunteer work at the Rio Grande Bible Institute for 12 years. He retired at the age of 87. Leonard attended Prairie Gem Church, Giltner Methodist Church, Stockham Bible Church and was a member of the Pleasant View Bible Church at the time of his death where he enjoyed studying the Bible and his Sunday School Class. He was a past member of the Hamilton County Farm Bureau. Leonard was a member of the Nebraska Hikers and Campers Association, where Leonard and Ruth served as King and Queen of the Nebraska Chapter. They represented Nebraska at the Nationals held in Florida. He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth, his son Leonard Eugene Tucker, his parents, and his infant brother Maynard Eugene Tucker. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his four children; 3 daughters, Peggy Ruth Friesen and her husband Dwaine of Henderson, Shirley Marlene Wrightsman and her husband Larry of York and Kathy Jo Veleba and her husband Randy of Saronville; one son, Charles Kent Tucker and his wife Laura of Aurora; 10 grandchildren, Sonja Ginger and husband Stephen and their son David, Travis Friesen and wife Pam, Kendra Switzer and husband Preston and their son Hendric, Ginger Wrightsman, Rusty Wrightsman and wife Pam, Megan, Jessica and Libby Tucker, and Chelsea and Micah Veleba; two foreign exchange grandchildren, Volker Olbrich and his wife Chandra currently of Omaha and their sons Blake and Kai and Olaf Olbrich of Germany. Leonard was actively involved with his family and will be greatly missed by all.
