Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: Mabel Tucker Mabel Pearl Tucker, the daughter of Henry and Katie (Linden) Bayne, was born January 29, 1894, near Phillips, Nebraska and passed away on April 23, 1980, at Aurora, Nebraska at the age of 86 years, 2 months and 24 days. She grew up near Aurora and attended country school south of Aurora. She worked for the Hamilton County Telephone Company for several years until her marriage. On November 14, 1912 she was united in marriage to Fredrich Tucker at her parents home in Aurora. After her marriage they farmed near Stockham, then they moved to Loup City area for 3 years and in 1919 they moved back to the Giltner area. In 1926 they returned to Stockham. After her husband’s death in 1948 she lived in Lincoln and York, where she worked as a caretaker in both places, helping people who were unable to care for themselves. Mabel joined the Christian Church at the age of 18 years, and had been a faithful worker in the Lord’s work her entire lifetime. She was a Sunday school teacher and Sunday school superintendent in the Methodist Church. She was also a member of the W.C.T.U. and in later years was the president of the Aurora Chapter. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 2 brothers, Marion and Virgil Bayne, one sister, Mrs. Opal Mae Carlson, one son Maynard in infancy and one grandson Eugene Tucker. Those who survive to cherish her memory are one son Leonard and his wife Ruth of Aurora; one brother Edward Bayne of Aurora; one sister Mrs. Maycel Sheppard of Lawton, Oklahoma; 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and many other relatives and close friends.
