He was born Feb. 16, 1922 at Spearville, the son of Matthew & Mollie Kaberline Appelhans, and lived in Topeka 60 years. Mr. Appelhans was a salesman for the past 12 years for Kent Brown Chevrolet. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was married to Marion Heisse Aug. 28, 1954. She survives.
