Survivors include a brother, Sylvester Applehans, Casper, Wyo.; two nephews, William Applehans, in Texas, and Donald Applehans, Carbondale; four nieces, Dianna Senne, Nancy Applehans and Barbara Holmes, all of Topeka, and Mary Virginia Mooney, in Oregon; five great-nieces; one great-nephew; and many great-great-nieces and nephews. Ms. Applehans was preceded in death by six brothers and a sister. The funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Ms. Applehans will lie in state at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Tuesday, where rosaries will be recited by the Daughters of Isabella at 4 p.m. and the parish at 6:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Most Pure Heart of Mary Church and sent in care of the funeral home.
