Description	:	LEONARD DAVEY SR. Leonard Melvin Davey Sr., 98, of Plattsmouth, died Saturday, July 5, 2003, in Huntington Park Care Center, Papillion. He was born July 26, 1904 in Creighton to Burt and Pearl (Van Cleve) Davey. On Aug. 23, 1929 he married Sadie Irene Belohlavy in Center. Leonard was raised and educated in Creighton. Then he began farming as a hired man, moving to Plattsmouth in 1931. He and his wife tenant-farmed from 1931 to 1948 in rural O'Neill and Creighton areas. Leonard Melvin Davey Sr., 98, of Plattsmouth, died Saturday, July 5, 2003, in Huntington Park Care Center, Papillion. He was born July 26, 1904 in Creighton to Burt and Pearl (Van Cleve) Davey. On Aug. 23, 1929 he married Sadie Irene Belohlavy in Center. Leonard was raised and educated in Creighton. Then he began farming as a hired man, moving to Plattsmouth in 1931. He and his wife tenant-farmed from 1931 to 1948 in rural O'Neill and Creighton areas. In 1949 they bought a farm in Creighton and farmed there until 1953. Next he moved to Bellevue where he was a carpenter until retiring in 1969. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Leonard M. Jr. and Patricia, Plattsmouth; grandson and wife, Mark Steve and Mary Beth, and great-grandchildren, Kylene and Kathi, all of Bellevue. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother, Merwin, sisters Thelma Schroeder, Althea Beehle and Mable Harrington. Graveside services were Tuesday, July 8, at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Plattsmouth, with Pastor Michael McGregor officiating. Memorials are suggested to donor's favorite charity.
