Description	:	Leonard Small, 87, of Fullerton died Friday, Feb. 11, 2011, at Golden Living Center in Fullerton. Leonard was born Jan. 12, 1924, in Polk County to Joseph and Stella (Berzenski) Small. On Nov. 26, 1947, he married Stephanie Slusarski at Duncan. Survivors are: wife, Stephanie Small of Fullerton; sons, Allen (Marilyn), Gerald (Penny), Robert, John (Janette), Joe all of Fullerton, and Dan (Beth) of Hastings; daughter, Mary (Mark) Wyman of Silver Creek; sisters, Irene Slusarski and Florence (Alois) Micek both of Columbus; 28 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Leonard grew up and was educated in Polk County. He then moved to the Genoa and Fullerton area, where he farmed. In 1955, Leonard and Stephanie moved to the Fullerton area and farmed there until they moved into town in 1987. He continued to help with the farming and loved working with the cattle. Leonard was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and Holy Name. He enjoyed gardening, Polish music and his grandchildren. Leonard was preceded in death by: son, Michael Small; brother, Sam Small; and sisters, Eleanor Sock and Marjorie Slusarski. Published Grand Island Independent 2/13/2011
