Description	:	Leonard William Witte, 96, of Napoleon, Ohio, died peacefully on Tuesday, October 07, 2014 at the Lutheran Home, Napoleon. He was born October 26, 1917 in Hamler, Ohio to the late Fred and Emilie (Schuette) Witte. On May 5, 1940 he married Edna Tietje and she preceded him in death on March 27, 2013. Leonard was a lifelong farmer and worked at Campbell Soup Company in production and maintenance. He was a faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon. Read More	Leonard William Witte, 96, of Napoleon, Ohio, died peacefully on Tuesday, October 07, 2014 at the Lutheran Home, Napoleon. He was born October 26, 1917 in Hamler, Ohio to the late Fred and Emilie (Schuette) Witte. On May 5, 1940 he married Edna Tietje and she preceded him in death on March 27, 2013. Leonard was a lifelong farmer and worked at Campbell Soup Company in production and maintenance. He was a faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon. He enjoyed woodworking and made several doll houses and toys for his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Leonard was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great great grandfather, and brother. His devotion to God helped create strong family values which have been passed on to other generations. He is survived by children, Evelyn (Noble) Rye, Robert (LaDonna) Witte, Ken (Ann) Witte, James (Anne) Witte; daughter-in-law, Noreen Witte; 18 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson, brother, Louis (Mary Alice) Witte, sister, Loretta Seedorf, brothers-in-law, Eldor Fitzenreiter and Walter Rickenberg. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna; son, Raymond; brother, Lorenz Witte, and sisters, Lillian Fitzenreiter and Lula Rickenberg. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 10 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon. Interment will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery, Napoleon. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Thursday at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Napoleon and from 10 - 11 a.m. on Friday at the church.
