Description	:	Leonidas D. (Lon) Kinney, 80, 401 Hamilton Street, died at 8:35 a.m. today at the St. Joseph hospital. Son of Kenton H. and Oberie F. Simpson Kinney, he was born in Grant county, Kentucky on January 5, 1879. He had lived in Ottumwa for 41 years. Mr. Kinney was a member of the Willard Street Methodist church. He was an employe(e) of the John Deere Ottumwa Works from 1918 to 1945 when he retired. Surviving are his wife, Minnie, a son, Harley Kinney of Ottumwa; two daughters, Mrs. Nellie Williamson of Phoenix, Ariz. and Mrs. Mabel Sweeney of Granger, Mo.; and two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Cossell, also of Downing, and Mrs. Rosa Zaerr of Queen City, Mo. Preceding him in death were a son, two grandsons and two brothers. Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Willard Street Methodist church. The Rev. Cecil Latta, pastor, will be in charge. Burial will be in the Shaul cemetery. The body will be taken from the Curl funeral home in Bloomfield to the Traul funeral home Friday morning where friends may call. The casket will be taken to the church at noon Saturday and will be closed at the beginning of the service.
