Description	:	LeRoy Emil Buschkoetter was born on July 13, 1931 to Anton and Rose (Blume) Buschkoetter at Lawrence, Nebraska. He departed this life Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at the Blue Hill Care Center, Blue Hill Nebraska at age 84. LeRoy spent two years in the army during the Korean War. On June 14, 1955 he married Eileen E. Kathman and to their union was born seven children. He was a dedicated farmer and worked hard all of his life. He departed this life Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at the Blue Hill Care Center, Blue Hill Nebraska at age 84. LeRoy spent two years in the army during the Korean War. On June 14, 1955 he married Eileen E. Kathman and to their union was born seven children. He was a dedicated farmer and worked hard all of his life. When he retired from farming, he and his wife moved to Hastings and lived there until his health made it necessary to move to the Blue Hill Care Center. LeRoy was a member of Kent Kailey Post #45, Knights of Columbus, Catholic Order of Foresters, Sacred Heart Catholic Church all of Lawrence and St. Michael's Catholic Church, Hastings. He had served on the board of the Lawrence Volunteer Fire Department. LeRoy was a kind and loving Husband, Father and Grandfather and will be missed by all. LeRoy is survived by his wife Eileen; sons Darrel (Kathy) Buschkoetter, Lawrence, Dwayne (Donna) Buschkoetter, Campbell; daughters Jolene (Len) Mazour, Lawrence, Sharon (Phil) Wetsch, Rapid City, South Dakota, Donna Buschkoetter and friend Dan Trout, Aurora, Judy (Jim) Kucera, Lawrence, Linda (Gene) Himmelberg, Lawrence; brother Leonard (Rosie) Buschkoetter, Blue Hill; sisters Sally Menke, Lawrence, LaVeta Rempe, Hastings, Lucille (Ray) Rempe, Hastings; 19 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law Ben Faimon; sisters and brother-in-laws Irene (LeRoy) Hoelting and Verena (Pete) Buescher; brother and sister-in-law Robert (Mildred) Buschkoetter; brother-in-laws Vince Menke and Al Rempe. Rosary was held Sunday, May 1, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lawrence. Funeral services were held Monday, May 2, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lawrence. Parish pastor, Father Thomas Bush conducted services. Assisting at the services were: Don Kathman as Lector; Don Mazour as Acolyte; Keven Schroer and Matthew Kimminau as Altar Boys; Judy Schroer, organist; Carla Kohmetscher, Carolyn Kohmetscher, Peggy Faimon: song leaders. As part of the offertory gifts all of the granddaughters carried a flower to the front of the church and placed them in a vase. Pallbearers were grandsons Mike Faimon, Jeff Faimon, Jason Wetsch, Dillon Menke, Tyler Kucera, Trevor Kucera, Jared Kucera, Riley Kucera. Honor Guard contingents for the services were from the Knights of Columbus, the Lawrence Volunteer Fire Dept. and the Lawrence American Legion. Burial with Military Rites by Kent Kailey Post #45 was in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Lawrence, Nebraska. A memorial has been established to be designated at a later date.
