Description	:	Leonard A. Buschkoetter was born on October 2, 1924 to Anton and Rose (Blume) Buschkoetter in rural Lawrence, Nebraska. He departed this life Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, Nebraska at the 91. He received his education at Sacred Heart Catholic School in Lawrence. Leonard married Rosalia M. Schroer on April 19, 1949 and they made their home southeast of Lawrence where they farmed and raised 6 children. Leonard married Rosalia M. Schroer on April 19, 1949 and they made their home southeast of Lawrence where they farmed and raised 6 children. Leonard was a dedicated farmer and also a skilled carpenter. He and Rosalia spent many happy years square-dancing and he went on to become a square dance caller. They retired in Lawrence and then lived at the Kensington and the Blue Hill Care Center in recent years. Leonard was a former member of St. Stephen Catholic Church and was a current member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church both of Lawrence. He was also a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters. Leonard was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather. Leonard is survived by his wife of 67 years Rosalia, Blue Hill; Children Marie (Darwin) Hinrichs, Gibbon; Terry (Carol) Buschkoetter, Lawrence, Jean (Darrel) Springer, Oak, Karen (Richard) Faimon, Glenvil, Doris (Tim) Krueger, Osmond, Gerald (Michele) Buschkoetter, Lawrence; Sisters Sally Menke, Lawrence, LaVeta Rempe, Hastings, Lucile (Ray) Rempe, Hastings; Sister-In-Law, Eileen Buschkoetter, Lawrence; 15 Grandchildren and 19 Great Grandchildren. Leonard was preceded in death by his Parents; Infant Son Alfred; Sisters and Brothers-In-Laws Irene (LeRoy) Hoelting, Verena (Wilfed) Buescher; Brothers and Sisters-In-Laws Ray Schroer, Albert (Delores) Drudik, Ernest (Helen) Schroer, Alfred Schroer, Hubert (Alma) Schroer, Vincent Menke and Al Rempe. Rosary services were held Monday, June 13, 2016, and Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, June 14, 2016, both at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lawrence with Father Thomas Schultes officiating. Assisting with the services were Lector, Lavern Schroer; Acolyte Loren Ostdiek; Altar Boys Brett Henrichs and Blake Henrichs; Organist Judy Schroer; Song Leader Roger Buschkoetter. Pallbearers were Gary Hinrichs, Kevin Hinrichs, Gavyn Buschkoetter, Bruce Faimon and Adam Krueger. Burial was in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Lawrence. A Memorial has been established to be designated at a later date. Merten-Butler Mortuary, Blue Hill, Nebraska is in charge of arrangements.
