Nov. 23 1905 and died in Cherokee on July 11, 1964 at the age of 58 years, seven months and 17 days. On Jan. 19, 1926 he was united in marriage to Beulah Lickins of Quimby, Ia. They were the parents of one son. A member of Memorial Presbyterian Church, Mr. Martin was a lifelong resident of Cherokee. For several years he followed the plastering trade but for the past 25 years he had opperated a small mink ranch. He is survived by his widow, Beulah, the son, Ronald, and one grandson, Peter-all of Arlington Height, Ill., also a nephew Don McCartney of Houston, Tex., who had made his home with the family for a time. Also surviving are three brothers, Reginald, Dale, and Wayne Martin, all of Cherokee and three sisters, Mrs. Bert Speelmon, and Mrs. James Patterson, both of Cherokee, and Mrs. Loren Witcraft of San Diego, Calif. Funeral services were held on July 13 from Memorial Presbyterian Church with Rev. Victor Schuldt, paster of St. Paul’s Methodist Church, officiating. Music was provided by Gary Leatherman who was accompanied by Mrs. Lyman Simpson, Organist. Burial was in Oak Hil Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jack Perrin, Harold Johnson, Wayne Sheezer, Eulas Quinn, Robert Hatch, and Luverne Holmes.
