Read More	The Nelson Gazette (Nelson, NE), Thursday, June 18, 1964 Roy Smith, 72, a long-time Superior resident, died at his home in Superior Tuesday, June 9, at about 11 a.m. Mr. Smith suffered a stroke on February 12 from which he never fully recovered. Born in Cherryville (sic), Kansas, Mr. Smith had been a Superior resident since 1922. His wife is the former Elizabeth Bruce. Mr. Smith was employed at the Superior Floral Company greenhouse for many years and later worked at the painting trade. During the past several years he had become well known as a manufacturer of woven rag rugs which he sold over a wide area. Surviving are his wife and 7 children, Elvin Smith and Mrs. Winifred Ahrens of Hutchinson, Kan., T/Sgt. Duane Smith in the Air Force at San Angelo, Texas, Mrs. Shirley Higer of Superior, Kenyard Smith of Iowa City, Mrs. Sharon Garten of Fairbury and Danny Smith of Superior. The funeral service was held at the Megrue Funeral Home Friday, June 12, with Rev. Floyd Hadsell officiating.
