Description	:	Obituary Battle Creek Enquirer July 15 1992 Tuesday pg 2 PARMA- Leslie Whitney 88 of Parma died Sunday July 12 1992 in Albion Comm Hospital after a long illness. Mr Whitney was born Aug 7 1903 in Clarendon Twp to Cecil and Rena (King) Whitney He was a resident of the Homer -Tekonsha area most of his life and had resided in Arizona from 1972-87 He engaged in farming until 1948 and then did custon harvesting. Read More	Obituary Battle Creek Enquirer July 15 1992 Tuesday pg 2 PARMA- Leslie Whitney 88 of Parma died Sunday July 12 1992 in Albion Comm Hospital after a long illness. Mr Whitney was born Aug 7 1903 in Clarendon Twp to Cecil and Rena (King) Whitney He was a resident of the Homer -Tekonsha area most of his life and had resided in Arizona from 1972-87 He engaged in farming until 1948 and then did custon harvesting. He owned one of the first self propelled combines in the area and followed the crop harvesting over several states from North Dakota to Oklahoma. He also had driven grain trucks and was a truck driver for the former Gale Manufacturing Co in Albion. For three years he worked at Michigan State University with the experimental dairy herds retiring in 1968. He married the Former Helen Deming on June 9 1928. She died in 1971. He then married the former Hildren Klingaman Sizeland on Dec 16/1980. She survives. Also surviving are a daugher, Virginia C Warner of Homer, a step daughter Marjorie Shedd of Albion five grandchildren, three step grand children, two great great grandchildren , five stepgreat grandchildren, a sister Marquerite Bock of Ann arbor, a half sister Louise Adams of Dearborn and half brother Cecil Whitney Jr of Jackson. He was preceded in death by a son Jerry Whitney in 1957 and two grand children.
