Description	:	Obituary: Lester DeWall, son of Alek and Arianna (Ludwig} DeWall, was born January 23, 1924, at rural Castlewood, South Dakota. He grew up and attended rural grade school in the Castlewood-Dempster area. After his schooling, he began farming the DeWall home place. Lester was united in marriage to Cornelia Van Den Bosch on September 14, 1944, at Dempster South Dakota. She died on June 5, 1960, and he was married to Bonnie Smunk on January 6, 1961, at Dempster. They continued to farm and he also drove milk truck for Big Stone Cheese Company... Read More	Obituary: Lester DeWall, son of Alek and Arianna (Ludwig} DeWall, was born January 23, 1924, at rural Castlewood, South Dakota. He grew up and attended rural grade school in the Castlewood-Dempster area. After his schooling, he began farming the DeWall home place. Lester was united in marriage to Cornelia Van Den Bosch on September 14, 1944, at Dempster South Dakota. She died on June 5, 1960, and he was married to Bonnie Smunk on January 6, 1961, at Dempster. They continued to farm and he also drove milk truck for Big Stone Cheese Company for a number of years. Lester was also caretaker of the Dempster Cemetery. He wife Bonnie died on November 5, 1989. Lester died Tuesday, October 6, 1992,at McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, at the age of 68 years, 8 months, and 13 days. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Bob (Carolyn) Johnson and Brenda Woodard, both of Castlewood, and Mrs. Dan Patmore (Coleen) Patmore of Rapid City, South Dakota; two sons and their wives, Lloyd and Debbie DeWall of Brandon, South Dakota and Del and Michele DeWall of Watertown, South Dakota; 13 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Anna Janssen of Estelline, South Dakota, Dena Rosenbohm of Watertown, Jane Jongeling of Dempster and Eleanor Harrenga of Sioux Falls. He was a former member of Dempster Reformed Church and a current member of Hamlin Reformed Church. He had served on the Consistory of both congretations. Lester was preceeded in death by his wives, Cornelia and Bonnie, his parents, and one brother, Lloyd.
