Description	:	Lester Eugene Hamilton, 87, of Waverly, died Monday, Nov. 24, at Community Nursing Home, Clarksville. He was born Aug. 22, 1921, in Winthrop, son of William S. and Ida Johnson Hamilton. On Sept.14, 1948, he married Jeanette Marie Nicolaus at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Waverly. She died Aug. 29, 2001. Mr. Hamilton graduated from Winthrop High School in 1939, then worked for some local farmers in the Winthrop area. Read More	Lester Eugene Hamilton, 87, of Waverly, died Monday, Nov. 24, at Community Nursing Home, Clarksville. He was born Aug. 22, 1921, in Winthrop, son of William S. and Ida Johnson Hamilton. On Sept.14, 1948, he married Jeanette Marie Nicolaus at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Waverly. She died Aug. 29, 2001. Mr. Hamilton graduated from Winthrop High School in 1939, then worked for some local farmers in the Winthrop area. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a metal smith second classman on the USS Ranger. He then worked for his two brothers, Wayne and Dave, before going to work at Shield Bantam, Schukei Motors and Chamberline trailers. In 1960 he started work at Carnation Co., where he was employed for 23 years, retiring in 1983. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. Survived by: a daughter, Mary Hamilton of Shell Rock; two sons, William (Linda) of Waverly and James (Connie) Hamilton of West Liberty; six grandchildren; a great-grandson; and a sister, Ida Breitbach of Waterloo. Preceded in death by: three sisters, Neva in infancy, Laura Derr and Bessie Price; and four brothers, Wayne, Raymon, William and Dave. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Waverly, with burial in the church cemetery. Graveside military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 176 of Waverly. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Waverly, where there will be a 7 p.m. Scripture service. Visitation also an hour before services Monday at the church.
