Lester Henry Schooley was born on March 7, 1925 in Allerton, Iowa to John Henry and Mary Louese (Gibbs) Schooley. He graduated from Allerton High School with the class of 1943. Read More	Lester Schooley March 7, 1925 - January 20, 2022 Obituary Lester Schooley, 96 of Marion, Iowa, passed away on January 20, 2022 at his home in Marion. Lester Henry Schooley was born on March 7, 1925 in Allerton, Iowa to John Henry and Mary Louese (Gibbs) Schooley. He graduated from Allerton High School with the class of 1943. Lester served in the United States Army from 1944 to 1946, and after being honorably discharged, he came home and married Audrey Bernice Selby on February 25, 1947. To this union, three children were born, Madaline, Larry, and Marilyn. Audrey passed away on March 15, 1995, and on July 7, 2001, Lester was united in marriage to Lois Jean Cox until her death on August 3, 2020. Lester was a lifelong farmer. He loved horseback riding and wood working. Lester had a passion for hunting and enjoyed shooting his rifles. He liked to spend time traveling and visiting with friends and family. Lester is survived by his children, Madaline McClary (Larry), Larry Schooley (Kathy), and Marilyn Aucutt (Bob); his grandchildren, Jayson McClary (Melissa), Justin McClary (Katherine), Brian Schooley, Bradley Schooley (Julie), Chris Aucutt, Curtis Aucutt (Megan), and Craig Aucutt; 19 great-grandchildren, 2 great- great-grandchildren, and numerous extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Audrey Schooley, his second wife, Lois Jean Cox, his brother, Dean Schooley, and his sister, Reva McKeeman. Funeral service for Lester will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at the Thomas Funeral Home in Corydon. Interment will directly follow the service at Corydon Cemetery. Visitation will take place one hour prior to service, from 1:00 – 2:00 PM. The family has requested that attendees wear masks to help prevent sickness from spreading. Memorials can be given to the family to be designated at a later date and condolences can be shared at www.thomasfh.com or www.facebook.com/thomasfuneralhome.
