Schooley Dies at 58 Mrs. Mary Louese Schooley, daughter of Newman Gibbs and Mary [Allen] Gibbs, was born in Wayne County on Nov. 1, 1891 and died Saturday, Jan. 28 at 6:00 p.m. after being in failing health for four years, at teh age of 58 years, 2 months and 27 days, at her farm home where she had gone as a bride 36 years earlier. On Nov. 26, 1913, she was united in marriage to John H[enry] Schooley and to this union were born three children, namely, Dean, Mrs. Reva McKeeman and Lester, all of near Allerton. Mrs. Schooley worked with a dressmaker in Corydon for several years and continued to enjoy her needle work and spent many long hours sewing and mending. She accepted Christ as her savior in January of 1910 at New Zion Church and always following in his footsteps. She was a loving wife and mother and her thoughts were always of her savior, family and friends. She was always ready to lend a helping hand. She was preceded in death by her parnets, one sister, Evaline, two brothers, Henderson and John. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, 3 children, 2 granddaughters, Kathryn and Karolyn McKeeman, one brother, Horace of Clio, 3 sisters, Mrs. Olive Havner of Corydon, Mrs. Fleeta Caldwell of Kansas City, Mo., and Mrs. Elizabeth Karns of Clio. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the United Presbyterian Church in Allerton. Rev. D. M. Crawford officiated. Pallbearers were: Everett Shipley, Ray Acheson, Elmer Acheson, John Sinclair, Ernst Couchman and Pearl Marick. Pianist was Mrs. D. M. Crawford. Singers were Mr. and Mrs. Don Duncan, Ira Duncan and Mrs. Paul Casey. Burial was in Allerton Cemetery.
