Mennie, 81, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 1991, in St. Vincent Hospital after a long illness. He was born on May 6, 19090, in Maryfield, Saskatchewan, Canada, a son of James and Marian Montgomery Mennie. He was raised in Rapelje, MT. On June 27, 1937, he married Dorothy A. Douglas in Hysham, MT. They lived in Billings and he was a transport foreman for Arkwright and Long Construction Companies. he retired in 1971. He enjoyed his grandchildren, doing the restoration of a horse drawn wagon and working with horses. he was a member of Ashlar Lodge No. 29, AF & AM and the teamsters Union. Survivors include his wife Dorothy of Billings; Two sons and their wives, Douglas L. (June) Mennie of Colstrip, MT., and Michael "Mick: (Connie) Mennie of Billings; a brother Basil L. mennie of Billings; a sister Mildred Caffee of Columbus, MT.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister and a daughter. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Peace Lutheran Church. Smith downtown Chapel is in charge of cremation. Memorial to Big Sky Hospice, of Billings, MT.
