Services were held on Monday at the United Methodist Church in Minden with the Rev. Dr. Bill Hunter officiating. Mr. Nelson was born March 31, 1909, to John N. and Martena (Christiansen) Nelson in Upland. He grew up in the Upland area and attended Osco and Upland schools. Dr. Bill Hunter officiating. Mr. Nelson was born March 31, 1909, to John N. and Martena (Christiansen) Nelson in Upland. He grew up in the Upland area and attended Osco and Upland schools. On June 21, 1926, he married Ruby Hendricks in McCook. They farmed in the Minden area for 18 years. He then worked for Tri-Co Feed Mill and later managed the Farmer's Union Station in Minden for 25 years. He retired in 1974. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Minden. Survivors are his wife; two daughters, Carol Wright of Minden and Jackie Meester of Kearney; one sister, Irene Bjorklun of Kearney; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Roger.
