Biographical Directory farmer, Sec. 23; P. O. Waubeck; owns 323 acres of land, worth $7,000; was born in Warren Co., N. Y., Feb. 24, 1818. Enlisted in the 16th N. Y. Heavy Artillery, Co. F, in Feb., 1864; was in the battles in front of Petersburg and Richmond, and also Fort Fisher; was honorably discharged in Sept., 1865, and immediately came to this county, where he has since resided. Married Laura A. Stickney, Oct. 26, 1842; she was born in Bolton, Warren Co., N. Y., March 22, 1823, and is the daughter of Moses and Hannah Stickney; the former was born in Massachusetts Feb. 23, 1788, and the latter in New York, Oct. 9, 1796; this aged couple reside with their daughter, Mrs. Andrews, in the full enjoyment of their faculties, and apparently happy as they together tread the last rounds of life's uncertain ladder. Mr. and Mrs. Andrews have one living son--Luther A., born May 5, 1845, and Orville E. (deceased), born Oct. 31, 1855, and died Dec. 3, 1874. In recording the death of this estimable young man, we cannot pass without paying, with very many others, a tribute of respect to his memory. While earnestly fitting himself for his chosen profession, that of a physician, he was suddenly stricken down with typhoid fever, which terminated his useful life in a few short weeks; he was a consistent member of the M. E. Church and Good Templars' Lodge, a very zealous advocate of temperance from his youth up, and a wise counselor beyond his years; he was beloved and respected by all who knew him, and almost idolized by his fond mother, who still sheds bitter tears for her darling boy; in his sickness, his only care seemed to be for her, and her anxiety for his welfare; his last words were "tell ma I'm all right," and fell asleep to wake in glory.
