Souba, who lost their lives in a traffic accident near Geneva, Thursday afternoon, December 28, 1961. Read More	SOUBA, LEWIS CHARLES—Double funeral services were held at the Kritner-Farmer funeral home in Geneva at 2 p. m. Sunday, December 31, for Mr. and Mrs. Lewis C. Souba, who lost their lives in a traffic accident near Geneva, Thursday afternoon, December 28, 1961. Lewis Charles Souba was born at Geneva, Neb., January 9, 1896, the son of John C. and Dianna Montoyne Souba. He grew up in this community. He was united in marriage to Sarah Ann Thomas, August 14, 1914, at Hastings, Neb. To this union were born four children, one of whom died in infancy. The two sons and a daughter who survive are Lester Souba of Geneva, Don Souba of Burrton, Kas., and Maxine, Mrs. Arnold Kriebel of Polo, Ill. Mrs. Souba passed away January 22, 1926, at the age of 29. Mr. Souba was married to Mary Margaret Stevenson Palmer, June 1, 1950, and they made their home on the Souba farm about two miles south of Fairmont on Highway 81. Besides the three children, Mr. Souba is survived by 11 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two brothers, Ernest of York and Frank of Fairmont. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and a sister. Mr. Souba was a good friend and neighbor and well like by everyone. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He passed away at the age of 65 years, 11 months and 28 days. Rev. Alden B. Sears officiated at the funeral services. Ralph Reemts sang “Ivory Palaces” and “Beyond the Sunset.” Mrs. Willard Foster was accompanist. The pallbearers for the two were C. H. Brinkman, Tom Brower, William A. Domeier, Floyd Gunlack, Pete Garrett, Charles Krejci, LeRoy Miles, Herbert Nichols, Clarence Newman and Harry Ward. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery.
