Lewis served in the Air force as a young man and spent time in France. Lewis lived and worked as a welder all of his adult life in the Tulsa, Oklahoma area. Lewis practiced the Baptist faith and attended services in Tulsa. When Lewis returned from serving in France in the Air force he married Norma Lee Baker on March 16, 1959. Lewis was one of four children born to Leonard and Marjorie Schmitt. Lewis served in the Air force as a young man and spent time in France. Lewis lived and worked as a welder all of his adult life in the Tulsa, Oklahoma area. Lewis practiced the Baptist faith and attended services in Tulsa. When Lewis returned from serving in France in the Air force he married Norma Lee Baker on March 16, 1959. To this union were born two beautiful daughters Tina Louise and Teresa Ann Schmitt. Lewis and Norma divorced in March 1975. On April 1, 1976, Lewis married a second time to Bonnie (Odell) Akers in Tulsa, OK. Lewis was a very loving individual and showed his kindness to others freely. Lewis suffered many years from Emphysema and required oxygen in his last years. Lewis leaves behind his two daughters; Tina and Teresa; his siblings; Rosemary, Alan and Nancy, and many other family members. Lewis passed away in Tulsa, Oklahoma and was laid to rest next to his parents at the old Howell Family Farm Cemetery in Rural Kiowa County just 10 mls. Northwest of Eads, CO.
