Mr. Abbott was a young many of excellent moral character with notions of propriety which governed his intercourse with his fellow men, we say this from personal knowledge, having had some slight business relations with him in which his character unfolded itself. J. J. Abbott and wife from Mt. Auburn, Iowa, father and mother of the deceased arrived just before the death of his son. A. L. Mitchell, of Eagle creek, is an uncle of the deceased, from which we learned that Elmer Abbott was born in Benton county, Iowa in 1879.
