He was born in Midvale, Rockbridge County, August 15, 1927, and was a son of the late Lewis H. Sr., and Amanda Miller Sorrells. Read More	Fairfield - Lewis Harvey Sorrells, Jr. 88 of Fairfield, husband of Blanch Duff Heslep Sorrells of 19 years, passed away Monday, September 7, 2015, at his home. He was born in Midvale, Rockbridge County, August 15, 1927, and was a son of the late Lewis H. Sr., and Amanda Miller Sorrells. Also preceding him in death were his first wife of 43 years, Mollie Cash Sorrells, and a sister, Delphia Sorrells. Lewis served his country in the Army from 1945 to 1946. He was retired from Southern States and Cohron’s Hardware. He was a member of Fairfield United Methodist Church, an avid Nascar and Dale Earnhardt, Sr. fan, and loved Charles Town Races and Slots. Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Alandra “Lanny” Price and husband Gary of Staunton; Robin Carey and husband Brian of Waynesboro; step daughter Kathy Roush and husband Chris of Harrisonburg; a sister Frances Humphries of Beulah Land Campus,Raphine; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, with a sixth being due in November; several nieces, nephews and numerous brother’s and sister’s in law; and a very special friend, Ray Painter. Family night will be Thursday, September 10th, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Henry Funeral Home of Staunton. A graveside service will be held Friday, September 11th, at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Carmel Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Pastor Elizabeth VonTrapp Walker officiating, and those attending the service are invited afterwards to the fellowship hall at Fairfield UMC, Fairfield. Honorary pallbearers will be Thad Painter, Scott Wilmer, Walter “Junior” Duff, Richard Duff, and Chris Roush. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Fairfield United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 69, Fairfield, VA 24435.
